So Mitt keeps sticking his foot in his mouth. Sometimes it's on a national stage and sometimes it's when he's talking to just a few local yokels. Sometimes it's about big national policy matters and sometimes it's about cookies or raincoats. Many in the GOP are getting fed up and have made calls for him to figure out how to create some excitement and to stop treating people like numbers, but I'm afraid it's just not possible.
You see, Mitt has a secret. Well it's not that big of a secret anymore, because the sum total of the life that has been revealed while he's been on the campaign trail has taught us one simple truth about mitt:
He's an asshole.
He's a bad person. He just doesn't give two shits about anyone who can't do something for him. I don't care how Ann tries to spin it, the simple fact is Mitt is and has always been an asshole.
He was an asshole in high school when he attacked and bullied his classmate, using a group of friends to hold the kid down while Mitt cut off the offending haircut.
Mitt was an asshole when he strapped his dog to the roof of his car and went for a multi-country drive.
Mitt was an asshole at Bain where he destroyed lives, closed businesses, bankrupted companies and outsourcedoffshored shipped jobs willy-nilly to China and any other cheap labor country he could find so he and his fellow assholes could rake in millions.
Mitt was an asshole when he visited that slave labor camp factory in China and actually believed the barbed wire and fence were intended to keep people desperate for work out, not the poor, abused, overworked girls in.
Mitt was an asshole when he ignored the troops in his acceptance speech then blew off the subsequent criticism as him focusing on the important things. See Mitt doesn't see the troops as people. He sees them as wigets employees who can be used to enact policy as Mitt sees fit. If 1000 troops die it won't matter to Mitt so long as the other side loses more than that. He won't care about the families who are crying for their lost loved ones anymore than he cared about the lives he wrecked when he worked as a vulture capitalist at Bain. For Mitt the end always justifies the means. People just don't matter.
Mitt really let his asshole freak flag fly when he fired off an attack at Obama for something Obama didn't even say while two American Embassys were still under attack and as the attackers were in the process of killing an American Ambassador. Again, the fact a man could have been (and actually was) dying didn't even matter to Mitt so long as Mitt could profit from that death, sol good.
Mitt was an asshole to England, Israel and Palestine on his foreign policy trip. Of course insulting people is one of Mitt's most endearing charms. He's done it to race car fans wearing trashbags parkas and to small town folks serving him 7-11 cookies local delicacies. Heck he's even done it to Russia and he hasn't even made it there yet. Mitt always seems to think he's being funny when he delivers these barbs, conceited assholes often do.
The list of moments when Mitt has acted like an asshole cannot be considered complete without a mention of almost his whole speech from the infamous donor dinner that was secretly taped and recently discovered on YouTube. Mitt was pretty much an asshole to half the country, anyone who isn't white and even his wife. It's several minutes of Mitt at his pure asshole best.
I'm not going to sit here and blow smoke up your ass pretending every president America has ever had is some kind of choir boy or is always nice to people, but Mitt takes it to a different level. He has zero political instincts and he doesn't have a compassionate bone in his body. If knowing you doesn't profit him in some way he has no use for you, at... all...
I am sure there will be some who will blow this diary off as trite or not adding much to the conversation, but I felt it needed to be said. For those of you still trying to figure out exactly why Mitt bothers you so much beyond his lack of ideas, beyond his hiding his tax returns, beyond his stilted demeanor, beyond the horrific policy agenda he has revealed, let this diary serve as a light bulb moment. It's not wrong to dislike Mitt. After all...
